The town of Westfield was founded in 1834 and has played a major part in the history through its rich Quaker heritage and involvement in the Underground Railroad. Westfield's Asa Bales Park is named after the founder of Westfield, who played a major role in Indiana's Underground Railroad. To the south of Westfield is Carmel; Noblesville is just to the east.
